REJECTA TRIFECTA

Three dubious candidates for the Manhattan Beach school board have decided to run as a team and dubbed themselves the Trifecta.
This trifecta seems like trouble,
Lounging comfortably in their bubble.
I’d rather bet the daily double.
To place a bet on this sad three
Is worse than playing the lottery;
They’ve no real plans for us to see.
The forum was the starting gate,
The chance to shine, each candidate,
But the trifecta wouldn’t participate.
And when they did, so ill prepared,
That band looks like they’re running scared;
Extreme agenda proudly bared.
They want safe schools for me and you,
But not for LGBTQ.
There’s no room for that point of view.
Their unsaid plans show no respect,
A teacher’s role they won’t protect;
Conformity is what they expect.
But do they really have a plan?
Aside from having books to ban?
Defending the image of the Great White man?
‘No naughty words,’ say this Wise Three;
No books of immorality,
Like My Three Sons on old TV.
They’re so afraid that kids might learn,
So history books they rush to burn --
The ones that make their stomachs churn.
This retro three will see nor hear
The cost of ignorance, enmity, fear;
A past unheeded won’t disappear.
They’ll try to throw us off the track
Since honesty is what they lack,
But CRT is code for black.
The shorthand letters, CRT
Refer to sordid history,
Confusing for this trinity.
For that’s a tale that involves race,
A story difficult to face,
Though try they might they can’t erase.
This thirsty threesome will provoke,
Rouse our fear, anxiety stoke.
A losing team will go for broke
But voters won’t be played for fools,
Submit to their capricious rules,
Degrading all our public schools.
They know three jokers in the pack,
Intent on holding progress back,
Are sadly running off the track.
The Stooges were a three I’d bet:
Comedy, pies, a vaudeville set;
A show you really won’t forget.
But this trifecta rates a No.
They aren’t Curly, Larry, Moe.
Their show is stale, they have to go.
